Edible gardening project happening now in Auckland city!
I’ve recently stumbled upon a really cool project that is happening right here in Auckland City. It’s called Urban Pantry.
Urban Pantry is a not-for-profit organization that aims to turn unused, urban spaces such as rooftops, terraces and balconies into edible gardens for the community. They help both businesses and residents with the goal of achieving more sustainable, urban communities.
I’ll be getting in touch with these guys to talk about what they are doing soon but for now check out their website to find out more information.
If you’re looking to start your own urban gardening project, whether it be a roof-top garden, a balcony container garden or even turning an unused plot of city land into a community gardening project, Urban Gardening Help is a great website. They have lots of information on how to get started and some interesting ideas about using space to grow things that you never would have thought of! It’s well worth taking a look at.
Don’t let yourself get trapped into thinking that you need lots of money and space to be able to do this. Like the weeds that grow in-between pavement cracks, plants want to grow and with a little help from us they can thrive in a whole array of environments!
