Meditation

Meditation is an important part of my daily practice. I learnt Transcendental Meditation several months before beginning the Cells of Earth project. It’s something that I had been meaning to do for a long time.

Members of my family had used meditation to help them come off medication and overcome depression. It’s greatest effect on the body is the reduction of stress and the calming of the central nervous system.

In our busy world, I believe it is important for us to look after our mind. Meditation is time that is taken out of your day to do something kind for yourself and also for those around you as your mood and temperament is greatly improved. In my experience, it actually adds time to my day as I am able to be more focused, more productive and more conscious of my actions. It’s like being able to recharge your central nervous system – giving it the necessary energy to push you faster towards your goals, while helping to shield you from your obstacles.

There are many forms of meditation. While I practice a mantra-based meditation, there are many different kinds including yoga, mindfulness meditation, Tai Chi, Zen and many more.

TM is one of the most scientifically researched forms of meditation. Here is a link to some of the research that has been done on TM.

This is a section that I will be building upon. I would like it to become a small resource for people who are wanting to learn meditation. As I believe that true change starts within yourself, giving yourself the love and tools to become the best possible version of yourself is a great step.

Please feel free to add to this section by leaving comments at the bottom of the page. I do take time to read anything that is posted up.
